Fairlane workholding & positioning components

Fairlane offers a full line of modular workholding, positioning and orientation components and inserts, including serrated gripper inserts, adjustable grippers, non-marring rest pads, Swivots and edge grippers. Fairlane's component part system works together or independently to help you squeeze the maximum productivity out of any design, build or machining operation.

Swivots

Swivots are a modular part component system that can swivel, tilt, clamp, grip, hold, position, align, adjust, rest or secure difficult applications with more creativity than conventional methods. They swivel, pivot and tilt to compensate for draft angles and irregularities of a workpiece. The ball swivels 360 degrees and tilts at varying degrees in any direction from centreline. Interchangeable parts help speed set-up and change-over times. Swivots are equally effective for tough-to-hold castings or delicate positioning applications. A typical Swivot assembly consists of a replaceable ball assembly or solid ball, an O-ring, lockscrew and a housing. Housings are available in three designs: hex-head adjustable, threaded adjustable and base design.

Rest Pads are ideal for positioning point areas that need to be easily replaced due to severe applications and high volume use. They add versatility and speed to fixture building and machine set-ups. Rest pads can also be used with Swivots and are available in sizes from 5/16" to 1" diameters and 8mm to 25mm diameters. The three mounting styles are tapped, C' Bore or solid. Rest Pads come in non-marring delrin for delicate precision surfaces or carbide which provides a hard surface for long-lasting duty. Steel provides longer use in severe and heavy-duty applications.

Grippers Replaceable serrated Grippers provide superior holding power because they penetrate the workpiece. The full line consists of many styles and sizes. Grippers are a practical and economical alternative for many jig, fixture and chuck jaw applications. Because Grippers can be replaced, they enhance a fixture system by minimizing down-time during production and set-up. They also extend the life of chuck jaws, clamps, special workholding devices and positioning stands. Grippers are available in a wide range of styles and sizes in both inch and true metric. Material choices include high speed tool steel, carbide tipped and solid carbide.
